Margerie Glacier UNESCO Heritage Alaska

Margerie Glacier is a  tide water glacier in Glacier Bay in Alaska and is part of the Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve.  It begins on the south slope of Mount Root.  The Margerie Glacier bay was declared as a National Monument, a National Park and Wild Life Preserve. UNESCO declared the Glacier Bay as World Biosphere Reserve and  a World Heritage Site by making the Margerie Glacier one of the main tourist destination in Alaska.
