Dune of Pilat is the tallest sand dune of Europe, located in France. The dune is a famous tourist destination with more than one million visitors per year.  The dune has been observed to move landward, slowly pushing the forest back to cover houses, roads and portions of the Atlantic Wall.

Betula Pendula or Silver Birch Trees is a species of tree native to Europe. It is a medium-sized deciduous tree with a crown of arched branches with drooping branchlets.  The bark of the tree is white with black diamond-shaped marks at the base.
