Koneswaram Temple Srilanka

Koneswaram Temple or Thirukonamalai Konesar Temple is the Temple of Thousand Pillars, located in Srilanka. The Temple is popularly known as Dakshna Kailasam because it lies on  the same longitude of Tibetan mountain, Mount Kailash. It is one of the major Hindu religious pilgrimage. The temple worships Lord Shiva in the Kona- Eiswara as the main shrine.  Koneshwaram temple is considered as one of the 18 Maha Shakti Peetha. It is believed that Sati Devi's Groin has fallen here. Shakti Peethas divine shrines of the Mother Goddess Sati Devi.
