Romantic Getaways in Italy

There are few places in the world that can be considered more romantic than Italy. Whether you dream of floating out on the river in beautiful sunlight or simply being serenaded by the most beautiful languages in the world, Italy is definitely the place to be. Take the romantic outlook and add to it some of the most interesting destinations and attractions in the world and you have a country that everyone should visit at least once.

Major Cities in Italy

Rome is the capital of Italy and one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the world. The first university in the world was located in Bologna, which is another great city to visit. Florence is home to the statue of David created by Michelangelo and both Genoa and Milan are home to the affluent Italian populations. Naples and Venice are both home to the beautiful waterways of Italy and Venice in particular is known for boat rides down canals and romantic singing to boot.

Tourist Attractions in Italy

There are many major attractions in Italy, although the most famous one has to be the Leaning Tower of Pisa, where Galileo did his famous gravity testing experiments. There are many different UNESCO World Heritage sites located within Italy as well, so if you are looking for something to do or see there are dozens of different choices for you from that list alone.

Things to Do in Italy

Aside from seeing the plethora of famous tourist attractions located in Italy, you can always do many of the physical events that Italy offers. Everything from boating sports to walking, cycling and swimming is available on the many beaches within the country and if you’re feeling particularly adventurous then there are also activities like rock climbing and hang gliding available to you in Italy.

Eating and Drinking

There are many great things for you to eat and drink that are uniquely Italian, such as the dozens of different kinds of pasta that only the natives do properly. In addition to that, dishes like Risotto put a distinctly Italian spin on a conventional meal in other parts of the world and with over 200 kinds of cheese native to Italy, you won’t be starved for dairy when you’re visiting the country!

If you want to drink in Italy, then the first thing you have to try is wine. It doesn’t matter which wine you try, but make sure you try the wine while you’re there because Italian wine is not just a beverage, but it is a thing of honor for the people that live in that country. And more often than not, the taste is more than good enough to back that honor up.

Getting There

Italy is extremely accessible. There are airports in Milan, Rome, Bologna, Naples, Pisa, Venice and Turin that deal with international flights and many roadways that allow you to drive in from other European countries. Train rides are frequent (multiple times a day from other major European destinations) and you can even get to Italy by boat if you want a more exotic journey along the way.

Travel Italy!

Italy is one of the best tourist attractions in the world and because of that it is no secret whatsoever that it is also one of the most popular.
