Castle of the Moors Portugal

Castle of the Moors is a hilltop medieval castle located in Portuguese. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also classified as a National Monument. The castle was constructed during the 8th to 9th century. The castle is taken by Christian forces from the Moors after the fall of Lisbon. The Moors were the medieval Muslim inhabitants of Morocco. The castle is situated on the top of the Sintra Mountains with in the limit of Sintra-Cascais Nature Park.

New Swanstone Castle - Neuschwanstein Castle Germany

New Swanstone Castle or Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace located in Germany.  The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as a homage to Richard Wagner. The palace was intended as a personal refuge for the reclusive king, but it was opened to the paying public immediately after his death. The Neuschwanstein Castle has been visited by millions of tourists annually.

Bled Castle Bled Island Slovenia

Bled Castle is a medieval castle built on a precipice above the city of Bled in Slovenia, overlooking Lake Bled. It is the oldest Slovenian castle and is currently one of the most visited tourist attractions in Slovenia. The oldest part of the castle is the Romanesque tower. The buildings are arranged around two courtyards and connected with staircase. The castle has a drawbridge over a moat and a chapel on the upper courtyard.

Lake Bled Slovenia

Lake Bled is a lake in the Julian Alps located in Slovenia and it adjoins with the town of Bled. The place is one of the popular tourist attraction center. The surrounded mountains and lakes adds beauty to Lake and provides its visitors a picturesque environment.  The Lake Bled also significance a beautiful medieval-era Bled Castle that stands above lake.

The Bled Island is the only natural island in which is surrounded by the lake. Assumption of Mary Church is one of the major pilgrimage center located in the Island. The church has a long tower and stairway with 99 steps. The church is frequently visited and weddings are held there regularly. Traditionally it is considered good luck for the groom to carry his bride up the 99 steps on the day of their wedding before ringing the bell and making a wish inside the church.

Swallow's Nest Castle Ukraine

Swallow's Nest is a decorative castle providing a beautiful view of sea located on the Crimean peninsula in southern Ukraine. The Swallow's Nest is one of the most popular visitor attractions in the Crimea. Swallow's Nest features a guest room decorated with wooden panels, stairway to the tower, and two bedrooms on two different levels within the tower.

Mysore Palace India

Mysore Palace is situated in the city of Mysore in southern India.   It is the official residence of royal family of Mysore.  The palace is now one of the most famous tourist attractions in India after Taj Mahal.  All visitors must remove their footwear and none is permitted to take photographs inside the palace. 

The Mysor city is described as the City of Palaces. Mysore Palace is also known as the Amba Vilas Palace. The palace features a a three-storied stone structure, with marble domes surrounded by a large garden. The architectural style of the palace is Indo-Saracenic blending together Hindu, Muslim, Rajput and Gothic styles. The Palace is the venue for the famous Mysore Dasara festival. As the part of Dasara celebration the Palace is illuminated with lights.
