Lake Hillier Pink Lake Western Australia

Lake Hillier is a lake on Middle Island  Western Australia. The notable feature of the lake is its pink color. The colour is permanent, and does not alter when the water is taken in a container. The lake is in the middle of the dense woodland of paperbark and eucalyptus trees.

Glass Beach California

Glass Beach is a beach in Fort Bragg, California that is abundant in sea glass created from years of dumping garbage into an area of coastline near the northern part of the town.

Fort Bragg's glass beach is now frequently visited by tourists. Glasses in the beach is slowly diminsihing, so collecting glasses from beach is not allowed.  Similar beaches are found at Benicia, California and Hanapepe, Hawaii.

Xiaolangdi Dam Sand Washing Jiyuan China

The Xiaolangdi Dam is a dam in Jiyuan China. Below are the pictures of an annual "Sand Washing " operation. Tonnes of water and sand are gushed through a section of the Xiaolangdi Reservoir in China  as the result of sand washing process. It is performed to clear up the sediment in the China'sYellow River.  

The Yellow River or Huang He is the second-longest river in Asia after the Yangtze and the sixth-longest in the world. The Yellow River is called "the cradle of Chinese civilization".

Waitomo Glowworm Caves New Zealand

 The Waitomo Glowworm Caves is a cave at Waitomo on the North Island of New Zealand. This species are found mostly in New Zealand and are around the size of an average mosquito. These Caves are believed to be over two million years old.  The cave is known for its population of glowworms or Arachnocampa luminosa. This species are found exclusively in New Zealand and around the size of an average mosquito.

The walls of the caves are covered with a variety of fungi including the cave flower.  The common animals found inside the caves are insects.  The legend of Waitomo Caves began with the creation of limestone at the bottom of the ocean.

Blue Lagoon Iceland Geothermal Spa

The Blue Lagoon a unique geothermal spa is one of the most visited attractions in Iceland. The spa is located in a lava field in GrindavĂ­k on the Reykjanes Peninsula, southwestern Iceland. The warm waters of the Lagoon are rich in minerals like silica and sulphur. It is believed that bathing in the Blue Lagoon is reputed to help people suffering from skin diseases.

It is a man made lagoon which is fed by the water of nearby geothermal power plant and is renewed every 2 days. Before it is fed in the lagoon the water undergoes different process. The heated water is required to pass through the turbine that generates electricity, then the steam and hot water passes through a heat exchanger. Then only the water is fed into the lagoon for recreational and medicinal users to bathe in.  The country has a strict code of hygiene and guests are required to shower before and after bathing.

Wat Rong Khun Temple of Thailand is well-known among foreigners as the White Temple. The Temple is a Buddhist pilgrimage located in Chiang Rai, Thailand. It was designed by Chalermchai Kositpipat one of country's most renowned architects. The White Temple is a popular tourist center attracting visitors from all over the world.

Temple Structure

The Temple is a beautiful mix of traditional Thai architecture and modern-day science fiction memorabilia. The Wat Rong Khun Temple is painted white and is covered in mosaics of mirrors that sparkle in sun.  The white color of the temple symbolizes purity and peace, its glittering glass signifies the teachings of the Buddha and the outreaching arms represent desire. The temple complex is filled with sculptures of demons, skulls and other bizarre objects.

How To Reach

Boarding flight from Bangkok to Chiang Rai is the fastest method to reach the White Temple. Bus or Train option is also available from Bangkok to Chiang Rai and the journey takes more than 10-12 hours.

Lady Musgrave Island Australia

Lady Musgrave Island, World Heritage Listed Marine Park is an uninhabited coral cay in the Great Barrier Reef of Queensland, Australia. It is a tropical paradise abundant in Pisonia forests and bird life set on 3000 acres of living reef with a deep water coral lagoon.  Lady Musgrave stands second in the Great Barrier Reef chain of Islands. The island is rich with natural beauty and is home to coral, fish and turtles. The forest of the island protects the wildlife and varieties of floras and faunas. In 1803 Captain Eber Bunker of the whaling ship Albion was the first European to discover the region.

Wild Life 

The island is located at the end of large lagoon and has small pond with brackish water. The area is home to different species of floras and faunas. The island has a variety of bird life and is a nursery for Green and Loggerhead turtles. Whitetip reef sharks and Leopard sharks seen in the island are not dangerous to humans. The island as a best destination for those who have interest in snorkelling.
